I am a Pediatric Dietitian with a private practice in Rhode Island. I’ve been practicing dietetics since 2003 and I’ve been in private practice since 2007. I believe that a healthy diet is vitally important to every person and that it is more in reach than some people think. I know that when families start eating better and moving more they become not only healthier, but happier too!
I always try to practice what I preach. My daily diet consists of lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. My main sources of protein are nuts, peanut butter, fish and lean meats. I love putting healthy foods in my body because I take the phrase “you are what you eat” very literally! But I am human and I do eat ice cream, chocolate cake and creme brulee – all in moderation! My activity of choice is running. I find running challenging and freeing, plus it’s so easy to just lace up my shoes and get out the door. I don’t need a gym, no special equipment and I can run any where I am!
I have had to lose over 30 pounds, myself, so I know what it feels like to need to lose weight. I know how much work and dedication it takes and I know what a challenge it can be to maintain a healthy weight once it’s achieved. I hope my journey to be an inspiration to others.

Hi, Can a person eat too many nuts? I ate 400 g on Wednesday. Well, it was my birthday. Even though it’s healthy fat, was that too much? And if you eat less, will you be getting enough protein?
Thanks
Joy
