People think that because I’m a dietitian it’s easy for me to eat healthy, stay in shape and keep my healthy weight. What many don’t realize is that I have struggled with my weight, I’ve lost and kept off a total of 35 big ones since my heaviest, when I was in college. Weight management does not come easy for anyone, dietitian or not. Despite my recent completion of a half marathon, I’ve noticed 5-7 pounds creeping back on and I’m announcing that I’m back in the saddle!
Why am I telling everyone? Because announcing your intentions makes it more real and keeps you accountable. So, if you’re trying to lose weight or change a lifestyle habit for the better, tell people about it. You’d be amazed at the support you receive and trust me, when it comes to behavior change you can use all the support you can get!
